As we come to the end of the 2018, it’s a great time to reflect and learn from the past year. We know the famous quote by Henry Ford, “The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.”

Although I agree, I believe we’re missing a huge opportunity to learn from our successes. Too often we achieve our goals and move quickly to the next with no reflection. In contrast, we analyse mistakes in detail, properly evaluating what we’d do differently the next time.

While mentoring on the Coaching Development programme for Professional Coaching, I suddenly remembered the exact day 12 months ago going through the training, how different I felt, how much I’d learnt and how far I’d come in this coaching journey.

People say self praise is no recommendation, and I don’t like arrogant people who only talk about their achievements. But it struck me the benefit of capturing the feelings I experienced and lessons learned to drive me forward.

So rather than just thinking about mistakes, or creating New Year’s resolutions why not reflect on your achievements, and the learning’s for you and your business. To find out about coaching or my coaching journey, feel free to get in touch. Can I ask you to share one achievement and what you’ve learnt.
